Yaasa
Delivering ground-breaking adjustable furniture and luxurious accessories, Yaasa differentiates itself from the new wave of bed-in-a-box companies by the promise of wellness, comfort, sustainability, and a seamless customer experience.

As the Designer and Art Director, I was responsible for bringing the Yaasa brand and Yaasa Studios sub-brand into existence through identity design, marketing materials, packaging, apparel, product designs, and two ecommerce websites.

While at Yaasa, I also worked with the team on two successful kickstarter campaigns for one-of-a-kind wellness blankets, The Infinity Blanket and The Elements Blanket.
We thought it would be a nice gesture to take Lee out after he visited our facility to check out our printing press. I didn't think we had to worry about him getting drunk and streaking through the warehouse, but here we are. Lee is not allowed back, ever.

A Tale of Two Brands
While Yaasa functioned as the global brand, we needed to create a US specific brand to help differentiate our product offerings, as well as bring enhanced versions of our products to our US customers. We needed to have a unique design for the Yaasa global brand and it's product variations to work alongside the more niché Yaasa Studios brand. This meant creating an aesthetic that, while differentiated, come from the same family.
Yaasa Ecommerce Site
A passionate collective of designers, innovators, and creators; this unique synergy allowed us to create a website that not only displayed Yaasa beautiful products, but gave users a seamless and simple interface to browse and eventually purchase.

Through photography and clean spaces, we wanted to convey the emotive tone of the brand while also educating potential consumers of the wellness benefits of our adjustable beds, mattresses, and blankets.

The website was designed in an entirely modular format so that all blocks could be moved or repositioned to maximize user engagement and page interaction.
Yaasa Studios Ecommerce Site
Yaasa Studios and Yaasa differed from eachother in a few simple ways. One of the main ways was with Yaasa Studios you were able to customize your mattress based on your sleeping position.

Each customer would be able to answer a short 3 question survey to get a mattress that was customized for their sleep habits. The survey was easy to navigate and finish quickly, and was directly hooked up to the internal inventory management system.
The Infinity Blanket and The Elements Blanket
To help get Yaasa up and running as a recognized name, we wanted to create something that's never been done before.

Using a new material called Celliant, which uses microscopic ceramic particles to reflect UV light, we created the first ever B2C UV therapy blanket. After a successful kickstarter campaign, the entire first and second run of the Infinity Blanket sold out in a matter of weeks. The following year we improved on the Infinity Blanket, adding naturally harvested materials, creating The Elements Blanket.
